Prof. Evelyne Terryn

Evelyne Terryn studied law in Kortrijk (1994) and Leuven (1997), London (King's College London, 1996) and Oxford (New College, MJur, 1998). She obtained her Ph.D. at the K.U.Leuven in 2005 on "the right of withdrawal as an instrument of consumer protection", which was awarded the Raymond Derine Prize for human sciences. She is a professor at the K.U.Leuven since 2005 and she teaches commercial and company law and legal writing. She started her career as a lawyer with Cleary, Gottlieb (1998-99) and was a member of the Brussels bar until 2002.
She is a co-editor in chief of DCCR (Tijdschrift voor Consumentenrecht) and a member of the editorial board of the Dutch TvC. She is a member of the Acquis group and was a member of the European Consumer Law Group and the Consumer Law Enforcement Forum. Her research focuses on (European) consumer law and European contract law, credit contracts and distribution contracts. She is co-editor (with J. Stuyck, H. Micklitz and D. Droshout) of the Ius Commune Casebook on Consumer Law (Hart, 2010).
